Sheep to Shawl

October 1, 10am-2pm

Family Fun:

 

Learn how the wool that was sheared from the sheep is carded, dyed, spun into yarn and then woven, knitted or crocheted.  Chance to purchase hand spun yarns and hand crafted woolen items.

 

Enjoy the demonstrations of spinning and dying of the wool, lace making and visit with the sheep that will be on the lawn.

 

Kids fun at the festival will include chance to enter hone grown vegetables with prizes given for the best looking vegetable, ugliest vegetable and largest vegetable by variety.  Entries between 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

We will also have a table for kids to make a potato head creature using potatoes and other vegetables.   Exploding watermelon contest at 12:00 noon.  Flour tower contest at 1:00p.m.  The idea of the contest is not to collapse the tower.
